Happy Friday!
Yes, I’m still exploring possible useful technologies to make my life easier and more interesting. I’m not entirely convinced that Google’s new wave of communications fits into either category.
I figured I would like… chatting? E-mail link? Whatever it is you do at WAVE. I was wrong. For starters, I accidentally deleted 25 messages left by other people in a WAVE of discussion. Not cool! I don’t even remember seeing anything but the first message in the group, so HOW I managed to do such a distractive thing WITHOUT KNOWING ABOUT IT is beyond me.
The fact that people can edit each other’s messages… real-time bothers me. It almost fits into the “downright creepy” category. (1984, anyone?)
Maybe I am just not quite as intuitive with technology as I like to tell myself that I am. I can do the obvious thing and read the instructions, but where is the adventure in that? I would much rather learn by doing! (Not that that is particularly time-effective…)
While I’m learning, I also learned that there is a “thingy” that will allow me to add Bible verses to a WAVE discussion http://flammard.appspot.com/howto
This Could Come in handy down the road.
Anyhow… let me try to figure out how to let you wavers WAVE at me and bring me up to date with the 21st century.
